I did this thrashed truck at my other shop in walnut creek. It came in for a navi/bluetooth/backup camera/drop down over head DVD/blue tooth ect... Basically making it more modern with some tech upgrades. After finishing the install on the electronic upgrades I had a customer reschedule for another job so I had some extra time and it desperately needed a detail.
Inside the everything was cleaned with P&S Enviro clean APC 20:1, magic erasers, an assortment of little brushes, my amex, some general purpose MF towels, and carpets were extracted using MYTEE after some spot cleaning with APC.
Exterior got washed traditional way. Decon was done with Iron-X and a speedy prep towel. Exterior was corrected using M105/BF SRC compound/ BF SRC Finishing polish. All with my dewalt 849x. Seal with Klasse HGSG all my other waxes were in Orinda and I had this in my car soooo work with what you got lol.

After SRC compound/Finishing polish. M105 was used in a cpl places mixxed with SRC compound for more bite to save steps.
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpWoeE-0u5w]Black Fire SRC compound vs swirls - YouTube[/video]
This is a video of the door after just SRC compound. Give it up to Black Fire! It is pretty aggressive and leave almost 0 halo's with a rotary!

After one pass it required a second to get it perfect.

Pillars got dialed with one pass SRC Finishing polish.

I ran outta of SRC finishing polish I had with me so I used 3m ultrafina on all the bottom plastic. It sure does make it shiny I wanna do a side by side vs SRC Finishing. I have a feeling I'll see that it fills way more than Blackfire.

That's a lot of work, spend all that time on it only to get a call it won't be picked up til saturday.
Nice finish, the whole truck looks great.

Are the 'B' pillars plastic covering over the frame or metal?

I also have a black Navi ('06). The 'B' pillars are metal.

By the way, it looks great. Very nice work, and the back-up camera is a great addition. Mine came w/ the back-up sensors in the bumper, but to have a view w/ some guidance is a bonus.

I need to attack my own ride. It's pretty clean, but the swirls hurt my eyes when I look at them.

Thank you and it did suck but I charged a lot to miss sleep because I had to be back at the other shop at 9am. So it worked out $$$$$. And not sure what they were I think I was half asleep when I was polishing them but SRC Finishing knocked out 95% of anything on them.

Great job.
Thank you!

Yeah if you don't want to buy a new spend a few grand and make get yours feeling like a new ride! I tell people that all the time

Nice work.
Thank you

The roof will make you wish you were dead lol. I was on top of a latter with a 3' buffing pad on my dewalt for over 2 hours on that roof. It was in very poor shape though I got it like 80% better.

I'm not sure I know its an alpine unit but I wasn't paying attention to which one lol.

Nice turn around for sure.
Thank you!
