Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on autogeek! I've been detailing cars for about 30 years now (yes 30) on a part time basis and in-between jobs.
Always did everything mostly by hand and I sold "doing it by hand" to charge more. However my joints simply won't take the "elbow" grease anymore. So I found this site and was memorized. Actually spent about 2 days reading different threads.
Had correspondence back and forth with Nick at autogeek. Found him very helpful and just received my first order from them. Now I'm going to try to work smart and not hard.
I have to say the new tool I'm most excited about is the Tornador (http://www.autogeek.net/tornador-black.html) Black. Wow! I'm going to post about a portable quiet air compressor which is working for me with it on a different thread.
But just a few words about it here. The product page said a 5.3 CFM at 90PSI (In this case a 4.3 gallon model from California Air Tools) would not work. Actually it does! If you use it continuously you have to back off about 10 seconds every minute to let the compressor catch up. No big deal as you won't be running it continually that much. What this means your average detailer can afford a mobile compressor to use the Tornador.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Attached is a pic of some of the stuff I bought! So glad to be part of the discussion.
All the best to everyone,
Mike
