Hi everyone,

I came out of work the other day to find my passenger side door has a "w" written on the side in blue marker. My car has been treated with Ultra Guard poly sealant back in January 2007 so the marker should not have penetrated the paint.

Can anyone suggest how best to clean without stripping the sealant. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Or maybe some clay, then reseal. Unfortunately, looks like a reseal either way.
Guess you've already tried the QD and MF towel route. Since it's a permanent marker, that might not do anything.

Try a 50/50 mix of Isoproyl alcohol and water. I have seen IPA disolve Permanent marker labeling before. It's rather annoying when you WANT it to be permanent. And yes, you'll have to reseal.

Why would someone draw a big "W" on your door? Maybe he or she was a big George W. Bush fan???

any paint cleaner will take it off...even a AIO should take it off....we did a test once on some products and used a Sharpie Perm marker to see which products cleaned it off paint..and AIO did and also NXT paste did....if you can remove it with a product like AIO you at lesat add some protection with the removal of the marker..and then reseal with your product of choice...

I think the AIO is an excellent idea.

Hi all,

I have successfully removed the offensive marker. This is what I used:

1) Mothers' Pre-Wax Cleaner
2) Mothers' Sealer & Glaze
3) Mothers' Pure Carnauba Wax (liquid)

Thanks to everyone for their support, I really appreciate it.

Whoever did that needs to get knocked out. What is wrong with people and society! Not to worry because what goes around comes around!
