I have a client that has a ford F150 pickup. The front grill is sun faided plasic kind of chawky, a gray or tan color. How can I restore that to look good.:Picture:

Probably the best way is a prep, mask, and spray with a good quality rattle can paint.

Sounds like time for an upgrade. Options are replace it, paint it, polish and top it with a dressing like CG Natural Shine dressing.

Is it supposed to be a black or dark grey rim? If so, you could try what Mike did in this post: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/59327-how-restore-exterior-black-plastic-trim-2.html

See page 2, post #19. He states: "When trim has been neglected to the point that it is turning white, this is a sign of oxidation and just like car paint in order to restore the original black color you need to safely remove as much of the oxidation as possible."

Otherwise, the rattle can is the way to go.

Don't knock it until you tried it. Just saw a Toyota truck with bedliner that has Wipe New on it for 6 months and it look great. Owner said it's outside 24/7 and is a 9 yr. old truck.

Anyone doing a comparo between it and that "as seen on TV" crap?

But I had the same problem with the chrome and black grill on my 92 Explorer. Since the chrome still looked like new I pulled off the grill and while sitting in front of the tube, spent a couple of hours cleaning and then taping it. Gave it four coats with Rustoleum plastic paint. Looks better than new.

Thats funny, when I posted about this very product in Anyone heard/use "Wipe New"? (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/off-topic/56680-anyone-heard-use-wipe-new.html), I damn near got ostracized for just posting it.
