I am helping my FIL detail a boat so we can get it sold. It is oxidized but not in horrible shape. On a scale of 1-10 where 1 is awful gelcoat that seems almost brittle and 10 is new, I would put it as a 6. Here is my game plan:

Using this HF polisher:
Sander/Polisher - 7 Speed Electric Sander & Polisher (http://www.harborfreight.com/7-inch-variable-speed-polisher-sander-92623.html)

With this wool pad (note, not as aggressive as their 05704 pad):

And this compound :
3M 05954 Super Duty Compound - 1 Quart : Amazon.com : Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/3M-05954-Super-Duty-Compound/dp/B000N9OE1E)

I will go over the entire boat where it needs it, inside and out.

Then, with the same polisher and pad (use the other, clean side), I will go over it with 3M Finesse it II.

Afterwards,

Using a Porter Cable 97466 Random Orbit/DA sander and this pad:

Meguiar's 6.5-Inch Soft Buff Foam Finishing Pad : Amazon.com : Automotive (http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-6-5-Inch-Soft-Buff-Finishing/dp/B0002UQAY8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359561886&sr=8-2&keywords=meguiars+pad)

I will apply this wax

and then call it a day. Any suggestions?
