Am thinking about purchasing a Griots 3" Orbital to restore faded and chalked gelcoat in tight quarters. Does this DA have enough ass to preform the task? Feed back please

I was going to buy one till I read the reviews on that machine and they most of them weren't good, think I'm going to hold out for the rupes75

I love mine never had a problem with it in the last year. Great for tight areas and works great for motorcycles to. I use the 4" MF pads with it and they works great.

Thinking about picking one of them up, I love my gg6 and I bet I would like the 3" even better for those tight spots.

I love mine. Let the polisher do it's job, and don't stand on it. All's good.....:xyxthumbs:

Works well for cleaning seats, polishing small tight areas, good for scrubbing tires and works well for tight areas to wax.

IMO not a power house like the GG 6'. Not powerful enough to remove bad oxidation or paint correction.

I can't imagine mine tackling chalky gelcoat unless it was with a sanding disc. It's nice for tight spots but a powerhouse it isn't. I find it to work best with MF pads.

I wouldn't be without mine. I detail as a hobby and not as a business though. I have used mine restoring headlights and just finished compounding, polishing and waxing my motorcycle using the GG 3" using optimum microfiber 3.25" pads and GG 3" for waxing. Besides I believe GG has a lifetime warranty. http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd297/Ezriderga/48bb5c916b47e88230a4a19457a7d426.jpg

I get quite a bit of use out of mine. I only use the very small 3" pads otherwise it won't rotate at all. But it's a real timesaver in tight areas.

I got the 3" Griot's for Christmas. While I haven't tried it out yet I did give it a very through examination and I have to report this appears to be a well made machine. The polisher is quite a bit heavier than I thought it would be, a good thing, and well balanced.

I'm certain this will meet my performance expectations...:props:

I'll have to take a new photo of my polishers as I've added 2 to my arsenal....

When you use it for waxing do you use a 3 or 4 inch pad and what kind would you recommend?
