A little confused. Should I use the #3 speed setting or follow the Edge instructions on the pad package, which would only be a #1 setting?

Plan on polishing to get rid of light swirls.

Thanks. Wonder why the edge pad package has such a lower speed recomendation?

Not sure, maybe they are talking about using it on a rotary, or using wax and not a polish?

It is for a rotary.

I just polished on 4 and the pad didn't fly apart so it's all good.

Live and learn. Had what I thought were light swirls on hood. Used blue pad but not enough pressure. Had to re-do. Used orange then white and most are gone. Used 4 speed so next time I'll go to 6. Wasn't sure about skipping from orange to white, but it came out good.

The speed recommendation on the packaging is in RPM which is the speed measurement for rotary buffers. Orbital buffer speed is measured in OPM (orbits per minute). They are measurements which are not relatable as they are totally different types of movement.

Personally, I run my PC on speed 5. I've never had a problem breaking down a polish or removing a swirl when using the right pad/polish combo at this speed. Plus, the machine vibrates MUCH less on speed 5 compared to speed 6.

Word. 5 doesn't do squat compared to 6, and on 5, EVERY little nuance on the car will stop the pad....frustrating to say the least.
