i was wanting to make this a poll but i imagine that only moderators can make polls hehe. well there is the question... who waxes by hand and who waxes by machine??

i have always waxed by hand but im considering making the switch to doing it by machine if there is no risk involved.

I now do it by machine. It takes me half the time and I feel it does a better job. Edit: I do find myself using paste by hand more and liquid by PC. But sometimes I use the paste with the PC also.

Both. Paste by hand. Liquid by machine.

If using Paste wax I find it is just as fast to put a coat of Pinnacle on with an applicator, save the machine for the XMT.

I use to only like applying wax by hand. That was untill last year when I tried with a very soft 4" blue edge pad I had. I can now do my truck with the PC and paste wax in a fraction of the time it takes by hand, and I get a perfect even coat, the action of the PC seems to spread the product farther and seems to use less then by hand.

Same as everyone else. Liquid by hand and paste by hand.

I find myself more and more going to machine for the quickness.

I always do Souveran paste and DG #105 by hand though.

Well I don't know if I can vote for one. If I'm using a paste product I apply by hand. If liquid then I apply by PC, unless its more convenient at the time to apply by hand.

Neither.....I prefer sealants but they are generally applied by machine.

I apply all waxes by hand, time is not an issue for me on my own cars.
If I am pressed for time on Joe Q Pubs car I will use a machine
I get a sense of accomplishment and joy not using a machine for wax.

I love applying by machine now. For some reason my hand really starts to ache after a while of holding an applicator. And I'm using Nattys Blue right now and it works awesome by machine. I just pop the block out of the jar, give it 2-3 rubs across the pad and I'm good to go. And I love the thin, even application. I seem to put it on too thick when I do it by hand.

what would the pros and cons be of both hand application and machine? is there any higher chance of marring with machine? or is it just a matter of preference?

Swirl/scratches removal by machine, wax by hand.
