This is an old writup I did but I thought it would be helpful to others on here that might have polished rims that are factory clear coated. My wheels on my mustang were looking really hazy and a metal polish wouldnt help since they are clear coated. Here is my process on how to restore the shine back :xyxthumbs:.
First thing I did was remove each wheel one at a time and sprayed them down with my foam gun filled with CG Glossworkz and then scrubbed them with my tire brush. I followed that with a rinse then Mothers Foaming All Wheel cleaner. The Mothers rim cleaner worked great and did an excellent job of removing all the caked on brake dust. I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. They had never been thourougly cleaned since 03. I then clay barred the rims with Mothers claybar then polished with Meguires M105 and M205 by hand and finished it off with Blackfire Wet Diamond. BFWD is the icing on the cake, it is an amazing sealant and leaves an amazing shine, goes on and off super easy. The resuls were fantastic. Also note that there are other ways you could go about this but this is just one of the ways that worked for me.
