Hey guys, this is the fifth episode in a series of videos I'm making called Thrifty vs Fifty.

Essentially I'm comparing two products that can do the same function: one with a low price tag and the other with a high one... and to see if the added price is worth it. Hence, the thrifty vs fifty.

I'm not just going around finding the cheapest and most expensive options out there and comparing them. In my eyes, that comparison would be useless. I am comparing two products that people on forums have highly recommended for a certain task and then if they have big enough different price points, making a video comparison.

Today's episode is on SAFE wheel cleaners.

Optimum Power Clean at a 1:10 dilution vs Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner!

Thrifty Vs Fifty Episode 5 (http://youtu.be/qGfq21r4k0c)

Optimum Power Clean:

$36 for a gallon of concentrate... or ~ $4 for ready to use at 1:10 dilution.

Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner:

$20 for 16 oz or $80 for a gallon.

Conclusion:

Both products are safe and work extremely well. You will get effective wheel cleaning with both products.

Advantage:

The advantage definitely goes to OPC for doing everything WUWC does, but many times cheaper.

Today I did a Meguiars Wheel Brightener cleaning... works great, but totally destroyed the beading! I think I still prefer OPC to that.

MWB is my go to wheel cleaner when nothing else works.

I am going to have to state that the wolfgang über cleaner has iron dwell which is a very good reason to purchase period. Ex . Iron x. This other product has that? I have used many wheel cleaners and wolfgang über wheel cleaner is impressive to say the least. The dwell time and sud factor makes using the Daytona and boars hair brush so much more effective then a basic apc

This is true but you don't need the ferrous removal capability very often.

Any German car needs more of an aggressive wheel cleaner. I think that's why wolfgang came out with this type of wheel cleaners for cars such as these. Compare any new audi or BMW to the newer demestic model vehicles, day and night difference in brake dust build up.

You wouldn't need those aggressive wheel cleaners if you OC your wheels.:xyxthumbs:

Remember thought that I was using a 1:10 dilution. If I bump the dilution up to 1:3 or 1:4 I have a much more aggressive wheel cleaner... that is still cheaper than WUWC
