Looking to buy a new3" polisher, just want some feedback on which would be the best as it will be used daily, I was looking at the garoits but the reviews have made me cautious, any feed back would be greatly appreciated.Feed back please. Was looking at the rupes lhr75 but haven't seen ant reviews yet.

I have the Griot's and I love how it gets into tight places where the larger PC can't. I do a lot of motorcycles in summer helps a lot. I would buy the set its great deal.

I'm not passionate about 3" polishers in general but I do have the Griot's. Nothing beats a Flex 3401 w/ 4 inch pads but when I need to get more precises the GG3" helps. I acquired mine from eBay as new-in-box but w/o the backing plate. I got a really good deal and wound up saving $50 overall. I have no warranty but if it lasts me 2-3 years I'm satisfied.

I also have the 3" Griots and like it but it doesn't have a whole lot of power. You can't use very much pressure because you can stop it from rotating.

I've found this true, BUT, use it with the MF disc's and you really don't need to do all that. The machine/combo does the work for you.

Like most DA polishers, thinner pads with less mass enables the energy to be transferred to the surface better...

Here's the 3" GG Polisher being used as a dampsander, (my favoiret use for this tool), and then removing the sanding marks using a microfiber pad.

Dampsanding with 3" Griot's Garage Mini Polisher (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/wet-sanding-cutting-buffing/38475-dampsanding-3-griot-s-garage-mini-polisher.html)

Dampsanding
This is a match made in car detailing heaven. This mini dual action polisher works flawlessly as a 3" dampsander. It makes sanding close to edges safe and easy. It makes sanding small thin panels faster and easier.

With this combination of polisher and 3" sanding disc with an interface pad for conforming to the shape of the panel you can quickly and easily sand out a minor or small defect with surgical precision in an isolated area with only a small footprint.

Removing Sanding Marks
The Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher is also able to rotate the Meguiar's microfiber discs. This is a 3" microfiber cutting disc removing #3000 Unigrit dampsanding marks.

It works but it's so much faster and effective to learn how to use a rotary buffer if you're going to sand down and buff out an entire car. If you're just doing spot repair then it's doable.

We'll be using the 3" GG Polishers to dampsand during tomorrow night's Live Broadcast of sanding and buffing the 1965 Mustang.

As a swirl remover using foam pads you really need to use perfect technique and mark your backing plate so you can monitor pad rotation.

I've used this tool with foam pads to remove sanding marks for demonstrations at car shows so I know it can be done...

Used with microfiber pads to remove swirls on grill...

This is me tackling the iconic front grill using the Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher using an Optimum 3.25" Microfiber Pad with Hyper-Polish.

I now the question everyone wants to ask and here is the answer...

YES the 3" Mini Polisher was able to maintain pad rotation. I started with the upper potions and worked downward and wiped the residue off as I worked... look how shiny and glossy the paint is after using the 3" Mini Polisher. The 3" Mini Polisher also makes a great Dampsander (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/wet-sanding-cutting-buffing/38475-dampsanding-3-griot-s-garage-mini-polisher.html) for spot repair.

I've not used the 3" Groits so I can't comment on it...

I do however have the latest G110v2, modified by Kevin Brown (Given to participants of the NXti Class). He had custom SS housings made that are much smaller diameter than the stock housings and it works excellent with 3" pads! :xyxthumbs:

Here is a pic showing the difference between the housings.

The Rupes LHR75 is simply amazing and with it's 15mm throw it corrects insanely fast and it also finishes down very well. The only down side is that it's air powered and requires a constant 90psi to run. It truly is a RID killing machine!!!

100% agree. The Megs or Optimum MF pads make this a useful machine!

I've bought one and returned it the same day.Lack of power for sure. I hope Flex will come up with something more powerful.
