Was wondering what everyone thinks of black light?

I got BL/V7 towards the end of Fall and really liked it, a lot as I used the combo together. It applies very easy and comes w/o an issue, no dusting what so ever. I applied it to the entire car and let it sit for a little while, then removed and applied the V7 afterwards.

IMO you can't go wrong with it!

I love it and think it has earned a permanent place in my detailing arsenal. :dblthumb2::dblthumb2::dblthumb2:

Honestly I like the product. Here's a very basic review showing the potential of this product with a machine.

Product Review: Chemical Guys Blacklight/V07 Combo (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/52648-product-review-chemical-guys-blacklight-v07-combo.html)

I did see the car after a month or so, can't remember exactly how long, and the swirls were still there but not the holograms.

BL & V07 will be used on my next detail if the rain will ever stop in SoCal. I know other parts of the country have it worse but we pay state taxes for nice weather.

I have high expectations for this combo.

I always applied BL by machine. Much easier to apply that way. Thinner coats are the key. :xyxthumbs:

Sweet I didn't realize there was a legit reason. I thought Californians were just paying for the pleasure of being taxed :P

I really like blacklight and own a few bottles but I feel you definitely need a good wax inbetween BL and upkeep with V7.

Blacklight feels like Glossworks glaze + a weak polish and a weak sealant. Just my .02 When I first got glossworks it was 10.00 a bottle so I held off on using BL on my car but these days a bottle of BL is actually cheaper.

All in all it looks great and on a DD it tends to hide the rids that aren't worth buffing out.

I must be the only person to use BL/V7 and think that it was just average at best. In fact I ended up trading it away because I think there are much better glaze options out there.

You're not alone. I've got a whole bottle of BL I don't know what to do with. I've been trying to convince myself how great it is, but I prefer proper prep and a nice long last sealant such as Menz PL or WGDGPS.

I do like V7 as a quick detailer that adds some protection.

All just my opinion :)
