Once or twice a year I try to give my dads TL a little love. I was kinda not looking forward to doing it, after all its a pretty big car. However, once I got started, time just flew by as I got into my "detailing zone". Add beautiful 78 degree Miami weather, some music, I was good to go!

Step by step here is what I did today:
First I washed the car with NXT wash. Then I clayed the car using XMT speed clay using NXT quick detailer as my lube. After the claying, took out my PC7424XP and XMT 360 using a light green 5.5" CCS pad on 5. Went over the entire car including the windows. I also cleaned the headlights and tailights using PlastX and then coated them with Meguiars Headlight protectant. The tires got a coating of Endurance spray. For the engine compartment and cowl trim I wiped down with a damp cloth, then went over it with PERL. It was looking tired, as well as some of the plastic covering the wiring harness to the ignition coils, PERL brought it all back to life.

I continue to take lousy pictures which is ironic since this is show and shine.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Nice job. I've got a 2010 TL (Black). Just purchased in November and only has minor swirls so I put a sealant on it for winter and won't polish til spring. How did you find the paint to work with. Hard? Soft? Thoughts?

Hmm, I have not done an actual correction or polish on it, all I have used since he got the car new was XMT 360. I would say its probably medium to hard, although this is the white pearl. The TL's are really great cars, at first the beak was a little much, but it grew on me and to be honest I like the fact that its quite distinctive. People who overlook these cars because of the styling are selling themselves short. The slow sales have also made these cars great buys because of steep discounting!

Every acura/honda i've done has been pretty soft. But they've all been dark colors as well.
