I'm sure everyone loves the sound of that. But recently was contacted by a fellow who is a media designer for a pretty big firm. He needed his car cleaned up as soon as possible to have ready before a commercial shoot that was taking place this morning. Arrived late last night around 6ish and finished up around 10:30ish pm.
It had been sitting underneath a pine tree for over a year. The firm needed a car and they knew he had this 35th Anniversary SS. Ironically the shoot was for a new car care product (Nature Shield or something like that...oh the irony right? lol) but it hadn't been moved due to bald front tires and a few other things. Working with a tight budget the main area focused was simply removing all the debris (there was a 3 gallon bucket full of debris), baked on dirt and fall out and then trying to bring back some kind of luster. It turned out pretty decent for the time spent. The dirt was so baked on to the edge of the stripes that an APC cleaner was used with the wash and it still was very stubborn. It needed this. The car can be saved though. We discussed a few different options to bring it back up to par which includes a new stripe kit.
Exterior:
Dawn wash w/APC 10:1 pre-soak
Dawn wash again
Meguiars Super Soap (yes three washes)
Speedy Prep towel - medium
Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Gel on wheels/barrels
APC 4:1 on wells/tires
Wells dressed with Bare Bones
All glass treated w/Perfect Clarity
Optimum Power Clean on all the jambs & shuts
Engine bay received APC 5:1 & underhood receive OPC
Plastic grill coated with Meguiars trim coating (love this stuff)
Waxed with D301 MF Polishing disk
Interior was vacuumed, dry brushed, vacuumed again & all surfaces cleaned/treated with Meguiars QID.
Sorry for the lack of pics since there was a time crunch. I was able to manage a few befores so you get the idea. The trunk jambs and under hood was atrocious. You guys would faint.
