Hi everyone,

I have a 2011 black Boxster Spyder that has some light swirling that can only be visible under bright light. I understand Porsche's have soft paint. This will be my first time polishing the paint on this vehicle and in general since I'm a newbie. I have a Griot's 6 inch polisher with 5.5 inch hi-gloss constant pressure CCS pads. I have orange, black, white and red pads. For the polish and swirl remover compounds, I have the Pinnacle twins (Advanced Swirl Remover and Advanced Finishing Polish). Any recommendations on using the tools that I have with the soft paint on the black Porsche.

I plan on using the Finishing Polish first on a white/black pad and if that doesn't work then I will use an orange pad with the Advanced Swirl Remover. Is that the best approach?

First, since this is your first post...

Second, try doing a test spot using the Advanced Finishing Polish with a polishing pad and then inspect your results, if the paint is soft, the AFP should remove shallow swirls and then you can seal the paint.

If this doesn't work, then use the Advanced Swirl Remove with a polishing pad and follow this wit the Advanced Finishing Polish with a finishing pad and then seal the paint.

I recommend everyone read this article first - before you need to troubleshoot :)

I might suggest, practicing on a less important car when first testing out your new GG DA Polisher. Get the feel for it on something you don't care about before working on something you do care about. Perhaps the significant other's car, etc.

Thank you Mike for the great welcome! This site has been wonderful in providing me with useful information as I get immersed into this fun hobby!

Would you suggest starting with a white pad or black pad along with the AFP?
