Need some advice on how to make this scratch disappear. It's a 2002 Lincoln LS. I have a PC 7424XP.

What are my options?14688

Depends on how deep it is. It might need to be painted if its too deep.

drag the back of your mail across it...can you feel it?

if so, likely to deep too remove by buffing...but you may be able to level the edges and make it less noticeable...

otherwise your looking at a paint repair.

2 great articles, it does take time and paitence, I followed the one by richy on my wifes black LS, couldn't even tell it was there after it was done, took about a week and is very similar to yours.

+1. The scratch appears to be deep. If your nail catches, follow the above articles; of course, do a write-up and show us the results!

If the scratch is just in the clearcoat, try using a clear touch up paint to build it up. Then knock it down with 1500,2000,3000 sandpaper then compound and Polish as normal.

I have done this numerous times with great results and success. It only works so long as its only in the clearcoat.

Thanks for the ideas! I am going to tackle this during Christmas vacation. I think that it might be to deep. My fingernail does catch the scratch. I will keep everyone updated and take pics.

If you are going to fill with clear, give it a few coats, and a day in between for drying time. Good luck:)
