Friend of mine sent me this yesterday. Hopefully, it wasn't posted before.

Oil Change instructions for Women:

1) Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 miles since the last oil change.
2) Drink a cup of coffee
3) 15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle.

Money spent:
Oil Change: $20.00
Coffee: $1.00

Oil Change instructions for Men:

1) Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, write a check for $50.00.
2) Stop by 7/11 and buy a case of beer, write a check for $20, drive home.
3) Open a beer and drink it.
4) Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.
5) Find jack stands under kid's pedal car.
6) In frustration, open another beer and drink it.
7) Place drain pan under engine.
8) Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
9) Give up and use crescent wrench.
10) Unscrew drain plug.
11) Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in process. Cuss.
12) Crawl out from under car to wipe hot oil off of face and arms. Throw kitty litter on spilled oil.
13) Have anoth er beer while watching oil drain.
14) Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.
15) Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off.
16) Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes. Cleverly hide old oil filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties. Drink a beer.

Pretty close to home...I still do some of my oil changes (only a 6 pack of beer allowed ...that's the key...not a case). I wish I could find a $20 oil change anymore...maybe on some sort of special with bottom end oil?

I always wait to drink afterwards. Funny thing is I actually used the hammer and screw driver to remove the oil filter from the Fusion. Not sure why but it was almost frozen (only 5,000 miles on car). Fun times..

That's funny and may even be true for some men. I changed the oil in 3 cars this week in about 40 minutes. I keep a good supply of oil and filters for my cars. I buy everything in bulk and the cheapest possible prices. The Mercedes dealers wants about $120.00 for and oil change. I would be afraid to even ask how much the Lamborghini dealer would want. I do them a lot cheaper and in a lot less time then it would take me to drive somewhere to have it done. I'm also usually cleaning the engine while I'm waiting for the oil to drain out.

Merceded, BMW, and Audi use fully synthetic oil ONLY. You can't just use "uncle Bob's" cheap oil in the Benz. They also fill it with like 8 quarts for 6-cylinder engine, 10+ quart for 8 cylinder, and 13-14 quarts for 12 cylinder.
Now consider price of fully synthetic oil (they resale it higher then auto part stores), oil filer (something like $20+), and labor and you have a total price.
From what I've heard it goes like this. 6-cylinder - $150 for oil change, 8-cylinder around $200, 10-12 cylinder are $250+.
Lambo will probably cost at least $300 for an oil change...

My Mercedes is a E500 with a V8. It takes 8 quarts of Oil. Mobil 1 synthetic 0w-40. I get it for 4.80 a quart and OEM filter cartages by the case at about $12.00 ea. Total cost of oil change just over $50.00 for supplies. The Mercedes Dealer wanted $120.00 to change the oil.

The Lambo takes 10 liters (about 10.5 quarts) of AGIP synthetic 5W-40. I can buy the oil direct from American AGIP at a pretty good price. I also have a good place to buy the filter cartage. The Lambo's a little harder to change because you have to drain the oil from the both engine and the oil sump. Total cost under $100.00. I don't know what the Lamborghini dealer would want to change the oil but I'm sure it's probably more then $300.00

The Viper takes 10 quarts of oil. I also use Mobil 1 synthetic.
