Worked for USG R&D in the 80's, we visited something similar and built a exterior building materials exposure farm that the engineers would visit once a year to take notes on how everything was looking. Being a tech, I was there every week changing chart recorder data! Very cool process that not too many people know what goes into making things last for the enviroment.
I believe Ford has something in Arizona that can take a vehicle from -30 to +110 in a few hours.

You would think with all this testing they could prevent clear coat from failing. Darn you nissan!
