Hey Mike!

So in the next month or two, I will be opening my auto detailing business to the general public!

Im in the process of looking at different paint thickness gauges and I am a little lost on what to choose, especially with regards to price. The models I am looking at are all Defelsko, they seem to be the most popular.

These are the Models:

Defelsko PosiTest DFT Combo Electronic Paint Thickness Gauge (http://www.autogeek.net/paint-thickness-gauge.html) -$695

Defelsko PosiTector 6000 FNS1 (http://www.autogeek.net/defelsko-6000-thickness-gauge.html) -$1075

Defelsko PosiTector 200 Series (Standard) (http://www.autogeek.net/defeksko-positector-200.html) -$1795

Defelsko PosiTector 200 Series (Advanced) (http://www.autogeek.net/defelsko-positector-200-advanced.html) -$2659

Now I understand that a lot of my choice comes down to accuracy. Although all of these tools are very accurate (all under +/- 3%). My real misunderstanding comes with the cost. Naturally I am inclined to the PosiTest DFT because it is within +/-3% accuracy and is the cheapest in the bunch. Now I am considering the 6000 because it is +/-1%, but how affective is that accuracy really going to be? Why is the 200 series so much more as well?

So if I could get some guidance please I would really appreciate it! :)

The 200 series will measure plastics and fiberglass.
