I just polished my whole car today and I'm ready to move on to putting a coat of sealant on. I read alot of people do IPA wipedowns after compounding/polishing to remove residues. Would this be a wise idea to do before I apply a sealant? I want to make sure the LSP lasts.

Car was stripped/washed
Clayed
Polished with 205
Sealant is Collinite 845
Wax Collinite Double Coat Wax.

Any advice is appreciated!

No advice but I am pretty sure 845 is a wax not a sealant.

I know it's a wax. I read it has the durability of a sealant so that's what I was intending on trying it out for.

For sealant it is a must to remove oil/residue from compound/polish before lsp. For carnuaba wax, I will still strongly suggest you to remove oil/residue for it may cause feint hologram/streaking.

Polish then IPA wipe before sealant. I use Menzerna Power Lock.
Follow up with 845.

I use 845 all the time and have never done an IPA wipe down before using it. Also use 205 most of the time as my go to polish. 845 is a wax with sealant qualities. An IPA wipe down wont hurt anything just an unnecessary step.

Thanks for the help fellas. I ended up doing an IPA wipedown at the proper dilution and I think it made a difference. Laid down a coat of 845 and followed up with 476. Car looks the best it's ever looked!

Don't get me wrong...You put an excellent wax (Colly #476) atop another an excellent wax (Colly #845).

-So this may seem to be a little out of context...
