Is there a way to fix this
I got some bindi to fill the whole and then I was going to use touch up paint and a primer and then put a layer of lacquer on top.
Am I going about right?

It seems to me it looks like clear coat failure. I don't see the scratch unless my eyes are goin bad.

Okay...so if you have a serious dent that you can't pop out, Bondo is definitely a good option. After your done shaping it, you can prime it, paint it and then clear it. If you just have a thin scratch though, Bondo is really not necessary. You can just fill the scratch with touch-up paint until you completely fill the scratch and then sand it down to level it and then compound it and polish it. Hope that helps.

Krud Kutter 8 oz. Rust Remover and Inhibitor at Home Depot. Use 000 steel wool and rub the rust off. I used it in a set of chrome olympic weights worked like a charm.
