No pressure here. This is my mother's car. No pressure at all. Not from her...but from me. I really wanted to knock this out of the park!

Here it is as it arrived:

See this nasty key mark? It had another one that I forgot to photograph as well. Both got filled with touch up, along with another substantial one on the rear 1/4.

My mom is more concerned with the interior than the exterior. I am not a big fan of doing interiors and this one was going to be a challenge due to the light colour of the leather and the carpeting.

I had my work cut out for me on this one!

First up was the wheels.

Tires got cleaned with my new fave, Zep 505.
Wheels were done with Tarminator and Zep Citrus.
The wells were done with ZC too.

The car then got foamed with a strong mix of DG901 and Dawn:

It was then washed with a strong mix of DG 901 as well and then brought inside wet to clay (with the CarPro foam block again).

Paint Correction:

The paint was on the softer side except for the roof. One or two passes of M105 and a yellow B/S pad corrected most of the sins (PFW was used for some of the more serious). The roof got Menz PG and black TB wool. That and the other stage were followed with M205 and a white B/S pad. I then used a black B/S with DG Squeaky Clean paint cleaner.
The head and tail lights were compounded and polished as well.
The wheels were hand polished with DG chem cleaner (not an OTC product).

Here are 2 shots before being coated:

The car was given an ONR wipedown to remove any dust and then was coated with OG on the paint, lights and wheels. The glass was done with Opt Glass coating.

I had 16 hours into the car at this point.

Interior:

The carpet mats, especially the driver's, were quite stained. I used Folex and my UDM with my white carpet DA brush to agitate the carpeting. That was followed up with steam. The process was repeated over and over. I spent about 45 minutes on the driver's mat alone. All the mats got the same treatment, but were not as bad so they cleaned up faster.
The plastic and leather was cleaned with my AG interior pad and OPC. The leather was also steam cleaned with a white terry towel after this stage and then wiped down. That was followed by Ultima UIGP. Glass was cleaned with my KD cloth. I spent 3 hours on the interior.
Oh, yeah, I missed seeing this treat when I did my initial assessment. I actually ran my steamer dry on this job...that was a first!!!

The tires and wells were shot with DP gel from my air gun.

The paint was wiped down with UWW.

I finished the car up at midnight on Sunday night and was off to work (on dayshift!) the next morning, so most of the shots are inside at that time. I did blast off a few early the next morning when I brought it outside for them to pick it up.

Thank you. Yes, both of them were very happy. It is a beautiful car. It's hard to believe she's had it since 2008..doesn't seem that long.

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Yes. I have often thought about going with a different interior colour than the black that I usually get. But, MAN, does the light colour show every bloody thing!

Thank you very much! It's a gorgeous colour. She had a tan metallic one before that, and she wasn't thrilled with this colour when she first got it. No question it glows with the metallic when it's done up.

Thanks very much. I followed Corey's advice (CEEDOG) a while back and have been using Ultima's UIGP. Not only does it make the wood look amazing, it also makes it very slick and feels great in your hands on the steering wheel. A quick wipe down with UWW every once in a while keeps it that way too. I absolutely love that stuff!

Thank you! It's funny. Most detailers prefer working with paint. I know I do. The outside world gets to see the fruit of your labour that way, whereas on the interior, it's the driver who gets to appreciate it.

Amazing job Richy. UIGP on the wood trim is a great tip. I will have to try this out. The paint looks really great.

Thanks! Let me know what you think when you try it out. It's not just great on plastic and leather, but wood trim too. (coated wood, not natural wood like you might find in a vintage auto..just wanted to clarify that!)

Thanks! It sounds corny, but I strive for perfection in every job I do. I put a lot of pressure on myself and I was heaping it on for this job as I wanted to make sure they were blown away.
