This weekend I had the pleasure of detailing this Seat Leon. Up front I must apologize for the lack of 'after' pictures - it was my wife's birthday this weekend and I was pressed for time and only finished up with the car about 15 minutes before the customer collected at 16:00. He also needed to get to a prior engagement and the rain was imminent so there was not enough time to take as many after pics as I would have liked.... in fact, it started hailing at my place 10 minutes after he left, with my polo standing outside in the driveway

Anyway, enough ramblings.... onto the pics...

The initial condition of the car on arrival.

This was a full detail, however the customer is looking at refurbishing his wheels soon, so whilst every effort was made to bring them back to life, this was done on the car and as such, they are not perfect. First the wheel wells were washed and then I started on the wheels themselves. They received an initial wash (along with the tires) of APC, which was followed by a wash with a dedicated wheel cleaner. This was followed by 4 separate hits of iron-x in an attempt to remove the embedded brake dust. They were then sealed and tires dressed.

After

The engine bay was then also given a thorough cleaning (but I failed by not taking any before/after pics  :fear: :bang: sorry)

All the emblems, door jambs, petrol cap, boot jambs etc were then pre-washed to remove the bulk of the dirt in these areas.

The entire vehicle was then snow foamed with a mixture of products to help remove any existing LSP, as well as the more stubbon bugs and road grime

The above surface decontamination then continued with all the tar spots being removed
http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd393/polo_playa/IMG_0730.jpg
This was then followed with an iron decontamination over the entire surface of the vehicle

I then moved onto focusing on specific issues evident on the paint, such as this...

Which then came out looking like this

The entire vehicle including all the windows/sunroof etc was clayed to remove any remaining bonded contaminants

With all the above-surface contaminants now removed, I was able to properly assess the condition of the paint under the halogens...

Not only was the car covered in swirl marks, but there were many many deeper RIDS. After an initial test spot a decision was made to correct the paint sufficiently to remove the swirls, but to not attempt to remove any of the deeper RIDS as this would have removed too much of the clear coat.

After 1 correction pass (you can still clearly see the RIDS, however the swirl marks have been removed)

Once all the paintwork had been corrected, it was treated to a coat of Chemical Guys Blacklight, 1 coat of Collinite# 845 and a coat of Chemical guys Hybrid V7 Sealant.

The interior was vacuumed and all interior trim cleaned and protected. All glass surfaces were cleaned and sealed and all exterior trim was then sealed with a UV protectant (again, no pics -sorry)

Here are a few 'after' pics I did manage to capture.

^ the other Seat poking it's nose out in the above pic, is the client's wife's car, which will be done this coming weekend.

Thanks for looking

PS: what the sky looked like as the client left, a few minutes before the hail hit (literally :fear: )
