It's not everyday that we hear about a product we carry on national TV, so when we started receiving phone calls about an episode of ABC's Shark Tank, I went straight to Youtube to find more information.

On Shark Tank (Season 4 Episode 7), a product Autogeek has carried since 2008 was presented to the judges; or "sharks".

Every week the sharks (Mark Cuban, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Greiner, Daymond John, and Robert Herjavec) are presented multiple products and negotiate investments.

In the 7th episode, Aaron Krause presented the Scrub Daddy. He requested $100k for 10% equity in his company, Scrub Daddy.

That is cool Ray! Love to see success stories.
On the "Sharks" the creator mentioned he sells them wholesale for $2.80 and the AG store has them for $5.99ea?
Scrub Daddy by The Edge is a hand scrubber pad to clean dirty hands after detailing your car. (http://www.autogeek.net/scrub-daddy.html)

From the above AGO-link's product's description (my bolding):
-"The Scrub Daddy is made by the same people who brought you The Edge 2000 buffing pads.
You could say they are experts on foam".

Couple of questions...
-Does this mean that 3M is the: 'same people'?
-Is this the same "special-polymer" foam that is used in the manufacturing process of/for
any of the: 3M™ Perfect-It™ line-up of foam buffing-pads?

Also...If either of the above questions are factual...Then...(In your opinion):
-Is 3M the experts on foam?

Thanks for any input you may have in regards to my inquiries.

:)

why does that surprise you?

AG sells chemicals they make that probably cost $2-10 a gallon to make, that they sell for $40-180 (some even up to $200+)

and they sell microfiber towels for $8 a piece, which probably takes $.25-.50 cents to make

Another example is waxes...it takes max $5 to make a tub of wax, but it sells for $50+ (not just AG, other wax makers as well)

as long as people are willing to spend that much on what they sell, AG will continue to sell it at that price, they are in it to make profit, not give us the best deal...if that is the case they would just sell it for whatever price they get it for

To be absolutely sure...
I'll have to ask The Good Wife when she gets home from work if QVSee:

sharks (Lori Greiner)

is a bidding-site, or not. If it's not...Wonder if AGO's Price-matching is a possibility.

BTW: I get a kick out of how this Reality-Show doesn't always truly depict to the
general viewing public that some of these inventors are already multi-millionaires...

You are out of touch with the way things really work.
Do you have ANY idea what a mattress costs vs what it is sold for?
I do since I worked in the industry. A $1600 mattress (on sale, not normal price) costs the vendor just under $400 including freight! Normal price was $1895. Put the math to that and there are thousands of other every day examples.

Not interested in your $1895/sale$1600 mattress (seems a bit high priced) LOL.BUT to get back to a "sponge/scrubber" for $5.99 that sells wholesale for $2.80 was just a bit surprising.

I'm a pharmacist. We pay for some meds around 8 bucks for a thousand tablets. Guess what we sell them for? Hundreds!
