Hi everyone,

I'm from brazil and I'm travelling to USA in the next few days. And I'll definitely buy some stuff for my car like Clay bar, Wax, microfiber towels and some other things.. because here in Brazil it cost almost 4x US Price.

So, my car is a Toyota Corolla 2010 and here is a pic of it. (I've never applied wax or polished my car)

After reading some articles on the internet, I chose this products.

Cleaners = I'll not buy. I already have.
Clay bar = Mothers 072040
Wax = Pinnacle liquid souveran wax
QD = Pinnacle Crystal mist spray
Microfiber towel = Cobra microfiber kit

So, these products are ok for my car (light silver color) or should I change the wax / qd or maybe a sealant!? Or do you guys recommend something else? I'm open to all suggestions.

The Meguiars Clay seems more popular here but Mothers should be fine.
I would go with Collinite 845 wax personally, just used the Souveran today and wasnt totally impressed with it. If it hold up well then I may change that statement but it didnt seem that much better than any others I have tried.
Crystal Mist is fine but why not buy some ONR and you'll have 4 products in one.

I was looking now the Wolfgang combo 3.0. It seems very good. It's sealant + QD i think.

What's ONR stand for? :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for your help! I'm newbie in this area. :/

You will really like the Mothers clay has a cinnamon scent and does a very nice job.

Yeah get some onr. It can be diluted into a number of things. 32oz will get you a ton of qd.

Hmm, I think I'm gonna buy both products.

Here in Brazil auto-detailing products are a ripoff. Just for you guys to know, a Collonite 845 costs $90 (R$ 180) here while at amazon store it's $16.

Anyways, thanks for the help! :xyxthumbs:

All looks pretty good! I would also use collinite 845. Also if you want to use souveran top the 845 with it. I have a couple of black vehix and love coly 845 durability and top all with souveran, pb natty blue or s100 nuba paste waxes. Good luck!

Wow that's crazy! You should smuggle as much carnauba as you can back across the border and sell it for like $50 a bottle!

It's an importation tax thing with Brazilian prices being so high. Products manufactured outside of Brazil are taxed at ridiculous levels when imported.

Does sound like an opportunity to make some $$ It's been a long time since I did any international traveling...what is the dollar amount your allowed to transport duty free??

I can't comment on what is allowed duty free. The company I work for just opened their first store in Brazil and basically couldn't use our "house brand" because of the cost of importation. A lot of what will be carried in store will be manufactured in Brazil despite being a US company.

You guys do have a developing economy in brazil. You might see price drops in the future. I would also buy a couple of microfibers and other items that would be a definate savings in the united states

Hello!

I don't know were you are based but there is at least another Brazilian member here at AGO: DaC. You can probably arrange some group buys...

Abraço,
