Hi all,

I've been doing some research on the best ways to clean/detail your engine. I've always used Simple Green/Super Clean and 303 Aerospace. The last few weeks I've been looking at other options.

This is what I narrowed it down to:

To clean:
1. Simple Green Pro HD (safe for aluminum)
2. Gunk Engine Foam Cleaner

Detail:
1. Sonus Motorlote (issues applying; seemed spotty?)
2. CD2
3. Gunk Engine Bright

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I really like the look of CD 2, Gunk works good for the first cleaning. I've been using purple power 50/50 for cleaning for a while.

Thanks, yeah the CD2 does work well and I may just stick with that. But I also have a bottle of Sonus Motorkote I'd like to try. Simple Green Pro HD sounds like a good option as does the Gunk Engine Foam.

I'd do a small area with the sonus as a test. Some don't care for it and only use it on wheel wells. Can't co wrong with CD2!!!

Sonus works good for the cost, and is easy to use....spray on....and walk away. Easy to use to much and than tends to make it a bit spoty.
