So i CQ my car probably 6 months ago, and today i had to clay bar it because i got lots of containment from spray painting my truck...

So i was wondeirng if anyone knows that clay bar will remove the CQ coating? (i used riccardo yellow)

If it is removed, should i just polish my car with Menz 4500, or use Pinnacle cleansing lotion?
My car is garage kept and i barely drove it for the past 6 months....

I don't personally know if claying will remove CQ totally. I am guess it will have some effect on it though. IMO you best option would be be to do a good decon and just Top-up the CQ.

I doubt Pinnacle cleansing lotion to totally remove CQ.

Damnn.. i guess i will just polish it and prep it for sealant and wax then
Menz 4500 should remove CQ right?

It's probably better to pose this query in another section...

:hijacked:

-But I'm curious to how your garaged-car---barely driven...has overspray from painting your truck.

Back on thread topic...

The following link should help you in determining the effectiveness of using:
Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion as a CQuartz remover.

Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion will restore and preserve your car's original beauty. (http://www.autogeek.net/pinpainclean.html)

Since you've stated you have already clayed...
-Did this remove some/any/all of the overspray?

Okay... so my car is a Garage queen Subaru WRX
I bought a truck at the end of June this year, i was doing undercoating of my truck frame with spray can and i guess the small paint dots was flowing all over the air and got it all over the truck and my WRX.

And claying removed all the rough spray paint dots.
Now is all smooth again

-That's great news! :props:

-I might have missed it...
But do you plan on keeping CQuartz on your car?

If so...I would say that the biggest majority of it is still there...
even after claying...due to the below information.

If not...The information is listed below also.

-You can also add additional film-layers...
At the very least: One hour apart.

Your first CQuartz film-layer has already met that requirement/restriction.

like i said earlier, i highly doubt claying did much to the cq. The main thing to do is inspect thoroughly for swirls, since you used the riccardo clay im not thinking there will be much. If you got lucky and there are none, i would leave it. If there are some in a few areas, i would polish and reapply cq. That way you dont have to polish the entire car to remove it.

Or... P.M. him: Avi@CarPro

But since I don't know if you're serious...I won't.
