View Full Version : Brand New Car. Which of these products (sealants) to use first?

So I just bought a brand new 2013 BMW 550i and own the following products that I would consider sealants (but not sure) and wanted to know what I should apply first before waxing.

Duragloss 105
Duragloss 111
Poor Boys Polish with Sealant
Collinite 845

Do any of these do the trick for a new car sealant or do I need to get something new? I plan on following the sealant with a carnauba or synthetic wax.

Thanks!

PoorBoys Polish with Sealant is a good choice.

Those are all great choices. Duragloss and collinite last forever. You won't be disappointed.

I had the same dilemma in May when I bought my new Mercedes ML350 in Diamond White. I decided on Duragloss 601/105 and it looked great. A few weeks ago I decided to do it again, this time using 601/111 and it also looks super. I also top with their AquaWax after most washes. Some people say using 845 over the sealants is even better. I may have to try that but frankly, AquaWax is so easy and foolproof and Duragloss sealants are so long on protection that it is hard for me to find a reason to use anything else.

Nice choice of quality products.....:props:

Applying these with a dual action polisher will improve the overall application and uniformity plus reduce the amount of work and effort on your part....

Duragloss 105 has a little bit of cleaning ability and is a nice sealant
Duragloss 111 is a gorgeous sealant so apply this after using Duragloss 105
Collinite 845 is a carnauba wax so use this last...

Great thanks. Sounds like a plan. I don't think of a new paint job needing cleaners, but I hear 105 is a good base protection. I always was wondering which of 105 or 111 would go on 1st.

Curious to know...if for some reason you want to remove them before they wear down, would that be done with a cleanser like Pinnacle Paitwork Cleanser or the similar offerings by P21S and Wolfgang?

DG105 and you are done. All this layering BS does nothing but empty out your wallet faster. Not a single person has shown a layered combo lasts any longer than the most durable product in the stack.

Don`t forget to clean, clay and polish paint first. Even its new there are contamintes on the paint.
