What was the biggest jump starter for your business? Trying to get going and help is greatly appreciated!

1. Have realistic expectations. Starting a business and building clientele takes time. Most business take 2-3 years to reach profitability.

2. Have a strong business plan, and stick to it. If you don't know how to write a business plan, do an online search as there are plenty of available templates.

3. Investigate MULTIPLE marketing resources, from paid to free. Different areas and regions will react to different types of marketing. Putting lighted signs up has gotten me huge amounts of business, but probably wouldn't work in a highly populated as area.

4. Do your research. Find something that separates you from your competitors and push that difference to your potential clients.

I hope this helps, these are just off the top of my head. There is no "magic bullet", you just need to go put some feelers out there and see what works for your business and region.
