I have both the Groits 3" & 6" DA polishers. I'm looking for pads to use on them. I know Griots sell pads for them. But who makes equivalent pads for them? I've seen Lake Country, but which of their pads are equal to the GG Red & Orange Pads?

The Griot's orange pad is about equal to Lake Country's white pad. While the Red pad is equivalent to LC's blue or red pad.

Pick up the LC Hydrotech pad line. 3 pads in an easy to remember lineup.

Cyan/Compounding
Tangerine/Polishing
Crimson/Waxing

Yep. I switched from the CCS to the HT and these things are amazing with cut and finish.

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue when using smaller (3") pads:

I bought Hydrotech 3" pads. I'm using a LC 3" backing plate. Pads are 1.25" thick if I recall. When buffing with a PC I get a "pencil eraser effect sometimes and a lot of pad hop. Like if you where erasing something with a tall eraser and the eraser was flexing back and forth due to its height. Like the pads are too tall.

So I ordered some of these 4" pads from CG:

The backing plate sits recessed in the pad. It just seems like it would work smoother and better, as the backing plate is closer to the panel. Junk man also likes the CG Hex Logic pads.
