I just returned after 6 months of being underway. I left my car under a tree unfortunately. It was not driven nor washed during that time. I now have some type of dark red substance on the paint. It is not sticky and it feels almost embedded into the clear coat. It looks like a bug splatter but of course it wasn't driven and its on the roof and hood. I am not sure if there is a sap that looks like this or bird droppings. I tried washing it off but no luck. Claying with pinnacle ultra fine did not work either. Should I try a tougher clay? I also tried using turtle bug and tar remover and that did not work. I am also a beginner to detailing if you haven't guessed already lol. Thank you for any advice given. Ill try everything.

Can you provide a picture of it. I am sure someone may have seen something similar.

Photos would help lots. But this does sound like tree sap.

Paint cleaner... I had a pearl white Nissan that had berry stains in it. Had to use KAIO to get rid of it. Took a few applications. I am assuming you are Navy?

:welcome: To Autogeek Online Josh!

I'm wondering if it's a mold or algae of some sort...

Spied this guy at one of the local University's keggers...
What does the future hold in store, if this is all the

Back to the OP's question...it sounds like sap to me. I know you tried the Turtle Wax bug and tar...but that stuff is so wimpy these days due to VOC regs...

I would try some IPA, mineral spirits, plastic razor blade...
