I've seen some detail brush sets @ Autozone & O'Reillys. They have a Brass, Stainless Steel & nylon or Natural brush in the set.

I can't figure out what the 2 metal brushes are used for. Everything I can think of in detailing involves " NOT SCRATCHING " the surfaces you are working on.

What are these metal brushes used for?

I use them to clean the grooves on my irons after a round of golf...

maybe they can be used on carpets or engine (rust)?

Their meaning of detail probably means using them in intricate places.

I used them when doing chassis painting, scuffing the surface.

welding cleanup, rust removal, general angry scuzz removal. also good for cleaning the threads out of a nasty bolt.

they are definitely not a detailing product.

My 99 cent store has the same set, so if you like them then check the 99 cent store.

I use the steel brushes to clean around the rivets on my pots and pans of getting gunk out of the crevices or other greasy cooking gear (think mini grill brush). Haven't found another use for them.

I keep buying the set though cause that nylon brush is perfect for my espresso machine

I use them when my lower region has an itch.
