First you have to upload the picture into a gallery like the one here on AutogeekOnline. You can also use Photobucket or Flickr of any photo hosting website. The thing about these is you only get so much space so what people do when they run out of FREE space they delete old photos to make room for new photos and everywhere on the Internet they posted the deleted photo you'll see a red x. Kind of ruins the point of posting the pic in the first place.

If you learn how to upload them to Autogeek's gallery, as long as we're around your pictures will be around.

The below are from my article list as I write articles on photography...

Mr. Phillips,

Assume I've posted several photo's in my gallery. I create a thread with many pictures AND with comments from myself and others that thread ends up being several pages long:

Is there a way to save that thread to a persons computer so that the pictures will always be available to that person? (In case something would happen that AG no longer exists.)

Will I need to save each page individually?

Also, I'm hoping to start several projects that I'll be documenting with photo's to post on the forum. Is there a way we can create our own article directory as you have done so that myself and others can quickly find threads?

EDIT:

I just read this thread for the first time. http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tips-techniques-how-articles-interacting-discussion-forums/43357-how-create-dedicated-albums-your-photo-gallery.html

I'm trying to read all of your links Mike but was wondering if anyone makes a program with maybe a install wizard type deal to make this easier on non computer members such as myself ?

I think so, just create a folder and then click on the File tab at the upper left hand side and safe to the folder on your hard drive as an html file.

Don't have time to test but it used to work.

Will I need to save each page individually?

But there's a work-around and that is to set your options to show 40 posts per page and this can reduce the number of pages you have to safe.

Go to your User CP and click on

Edit Options and then locate the Thread Display Options, see below...

Kind of except our time limit for editing a post is 20 minutes to prevent bad icky people from being bad and icky.

That means once you create an article list you won't be able to edit the first post to add more articles down the road.

Sorry, a few bad apples always spoil everything for the rest...

The easiest way to post pictures is on an Iphone using the Tapatalk or AG app. That's what I always use when I post pictures. You don't need to upload them first. You just hit the "add picture" icon and it brings you to your photos on your IOS device. You then just pick the photo and hit upload. It puts the photo in the location where you are typing in your post. Im guessing Android has Tapatalk (or similar), but I'm an Apple guy all the way.

Thanks for the tip. It's particularly interesting considering a friend, just yesterday, shared similar advice with me regarding posting photo's on ebay. He also has an Iphone. I do not, however, I will in the near future.

Are you typing on the Iphone, then adding a picture? Seems like that my be a little slow typing a thread, but quicker adding pictures. Can you explain in more detail?

Thanks for the information Mike.

Let me make this all easier.

First download the picture to your computer, rather it be from the internet or your phone or whatever.

1. Now go to tinypic.com.

2. Click the browse button and select your image.

3. Hit the uplaod button below that, and type in the captcha

4. Finally, copy the code in the box that I boxed for you in blue. Paste them in your forum post and their you go.

Nice thing is they dont delete your images and there is no maximum space. You get all you want.

The app doesn't work. I click on insert image from library and it goes to the camera, just like hitting insert/image/camera
