A friend of mine put this comment on his facebook page for a different hobby, I just edited it for whats appropriate here because it just seems like its to true:

The optimal number of Car waxes to own is n+1, where n = the current number of Car waxes you currently own.

I am definitely guilty of this :)

I'm always up for trying a new product so your formula n+1 will always be correct...:props:

True for me too. Guilty on being a new product junkie.

I think Dr Oldz would say "with n → ∞"

I feel the answer to that one is as much to be content or ∞

I use 3 waxes (2 nubas 1 cleaner)

I've found any more then that and you start running into duplications

I'm guilty of this formula for detailing, and as well as fishing.:hungry:

I did a little car care product culling over the weekend. I had bonnets for "wax removers" that I don't even own anymore. I tossed out some old tubs of mystery rubbing compounds and some used terrycloth applicators.

the detail tub will be re-filled with a whole suite of Optimum products, microfiber, and a Griots DA polisher.

and maybe one more wax than I need!

I believe this is true with watches and shoes, what number is enough?? Well when I have them all!! :)

I find the n+1 formula to be accurate as well. Like collecting anything else, you can never have a "complete" collection. If you run out of storage space in the garage, you don't need less wax, you need to build a bigger garage! :props:

The strange thing to me is if someone buys waxes to "collect" them and never intends to use them. Having a bunch of products is great if you intend to use them. Putting them on a shelf to look at, we'll that may be too much.

I'm guilty of owning several waxes that I haven't used... Yet.
