I was thinking of trying to top XMT 360 with colly 845. Is there any reason this is wouldnt work? If you have tried this what results did you get. My thoughts behind it is I like 360 as a mild AIO and the durablity is lacking for me, so Colly 845 is my natural choice for that issue. Let me know what ya think.

I don't see any problems with this. Have put 845 over other AIOs before without issue.

I just did the same thing to my truck this past weekend. I then gave it two coats of 845 and then a coat of 476s. Although my truck is Pearl White it still seems to have more of gloss than it had prior. I used LC green pads except for the hood I used LC orange and some M105 followed by the XMT360. As a side note, I washed prior using CG Citrus wash and gloss at a 1oz per gallon ration to strip old product, which it did wonderfully.

That's actually a fairly normal procedure in the car detailing world.

Lots of people will use a cleaner/wax as a paint cleaner and the fact that you get a little protection at the same time doesn't hurt.

Then top with a non-cleaning wax or paint sealant to max out the protection on the surface.

A good example is the Klasse Twins. AIO is a cleaner/wax, technically the protection ingredients are not a waxy substance but it's in the GENERAL category or "Cleaner/Waxes" and then they top with the SG which is a non-cleaning acrylic sealant.

I used Meguiar's M20 followed by M16 for almost all the cars I detailed when I was younger and before the Internet which introduced so many of the new brands we all take for granted today.

Of course that was after a multiple-step correction and polishing procedure that I used the M20 and that was to make the surface slick and seal it before applying the traditional hard or heavy wax M16

How abrasive is the 360? What effects on clear coat? Thanks

So having a weaker durability base layer has no effect on a longer lasting top layer? I've always believed the base layer really determines the longevity and it needs the clean paint slate to bond to..
