3 to 4 oz per car too much ?

Guys is it too much to spend 3 to 4 oz of polish on a single polish step in a car like a honda civic?

Lol... I must be doing something very wrong then...
I prime my pad using KBM method, but it's a 5.5" pad... although a lot of product goes into priming the pad itself
