I just had some body work done on my 2012 Prius black. I got a bumper and 1/4 panels repainted due to the repairs. Now in the haste of the body shop the thought they would clean up the car to make it look nice for me, well it looks like on the new paint I got swrils halo's, and who knows what else going on. Anyway I know I cant tounch it now for at least 30 day to clean this mess up. Yeah the body work and painting was great but their detailing sucks. Is there a good approch to take. At this time I have no power stuff and have done my work by hand. I'm in the socal beach area if it matters.

You can polish with body shop safe stuff probably, but you can't seal or wax

This is pretty typical because body repair and painting generally "messes" up most of the exterior.

I'd invest in dual action polisher and a few pads and learn how to take care of this yourself...While you can correct this by hand you'll achieve much better results using a dual action polisher....and they're very easy to use...:props:

Here's more great information by Mike Phillips that will help you learn the correct way moving forward...

I would wash the entire car and clay everything except for the repair. Polish these areas that were not part of the repair then seal or wax them as you normally would. After a week or so it's probably safe to polish the repaired area removing the induced defects.
