Im new here and still learning so this is my first product post. I have owned my weekend car for 10 years. It is always garage kept, never saw rain, or outside for long periods of time. Paint is still mint but it does have light swirl marks. I would like to polish the car this year.

I am looking for something very very light. I don't want anything too abrasive. what fine polish would you guy's recommend?

Will you be doing this by hand or with a DA / Rotary? What type of car? Can you post pictures?

I have used a PC7424XP with Chemical Guys P40-Polish+ and a white foam pad on less fine scratches, but you should use a blue or black foam pad as they are less aggressive. Additionally, you could probably use CG V38 as AG sells this.

I have the griots random orbital that I would like to use. The car is my 2003 cobra in my avatar. I will try to post pictures. Its hard to see the car is metallic silver. Im not worried about going really crazy with it, just a light polish.

I was looking at p40 polish from chemical guy's.

White CCS with M205 is excellent for removing light swirls and finishes out very well on even soft paint with a DA style tool.

+1 for M205 via white CCS pad. The clarity that combo gives is amazing!

another vote for m205 and white ccs pad. I was going to say the exact same thing. If the paint is very hard at all you may have to start with an orange pad and then move to white, making it a 2 step.

I'd do a test spot and then pull it out into the sun or use a good led light. You have to really inspect closely with silver metallic paint. Swirls don't show as easily.

Menzerna 4500 finishes down very nicely on metallic paint.

I guess m205 and the white ccs pad it is. Little curve ball here, I was organizing my products last night in the garage and noticed I have a new bottle of griots machine polish 3. On this forum, they said that griots machine polish 3 is similar to m205. can anyone confirm this?

I will pick up the m205 anyway. I know that the griots orange polish pad's aren't that aggressive. Not sure if I should just use the griots orange or ccs white

I know M205 can remove 2000 grit sanding marks with the right pad, but I do not know about GG3. Probably in the same range since there are GG1-4 and 4 is a final polish. CG P40-Polish+ will remove 2300-3500 grit marks depending on the pad used.

Long story short you could probably use GG3 with a white pad (black pad if white is too aggressive) to get a good finish. The pad colors I am referring to are for CG Hexlogic pads.

Remember you can use the pads to tweak the aggressiveness of the pad/polish combination. Black would be mostly the aggressiveness of the polish alone, while white and orange contribute to the aggressiveness of the polish/pad combo.

If there's one polish that can tackle almost everything it's SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-nano-polish-po-106-fa-finishing-polish.html) (PO106FA).

Menzerna SF 4000 is a gorgeous finishing polish and can easily be used with a White foam pad for correction and finish up with a Gray then Blue foam pad. You'll be shocked at the finish this product and pads I mentioned can be attained.
