I thought I just was in need for one machine!
But now as I read more, I see many of you have both two or maybe three machines. PC, rotary and cyclo, ###!!
What`s the purpose? The purpose of "wax on wax off", the purpose of all detailing ;)

Anyway, why?

rotary spins on a single axes and doesnt move around, therefor easy to burn into the paint...but alot faster and better paint correction with the rotary..

PC also spins but moves slightly in an orbit shape so the pad is not in the same spot..therefore alot harder to burn into paint if even possible...this takes a little more time to correct paint and is a great started product..

rotary is great to do large area very quickly...pc gets into all the tight corners my rotary can't get into without causing damage...

But orbital machines (if I might call it that) isn`t at all close to the speed that rotarys have. Why`s that?

I`m just wondering, cause tomorrow I`m actuallt picking up my rotary, but if a orbit polisher is better......I might get that instead?!

This is what I`m getting:

I won`t bother, I`d have to import one......and since we use 230Volts here I have to get a converter and so on.....

If you're from europe you can buy FLEX. The Flex is european branch of Porter Cable.

I started off with both and hardly any experience. If you are willing to take the risk/practice, i feel that the rotary is a lot more rewarding for most things, but they are two different machines obviously. I don't know if i could have lived w/o the PC for last step type products/glazes.

or you could get a rotary + dynabrade (converts the rotary to a dual-action movement)

Perhaps, if that`s an option for the machine I`m getting!

I make tails with my rotary!:D Talk to a paint guy about that and he said I need to go up to 8" pads.

PC very user friendly and longer working times. Rotary you need to master and faster working times.

Really, that seems kinda odd. How would an 8" pad help? I'm curious now. Anyone have an answer.

I've heard that these FLEX machines are the best. I've been reading just for my curiosity and it sounds like a very good machine.
