today I corrected half a car...

it is a black Lexus IS250 and it is partially wrap in matte black.

the stripes are all over the place and i tape all of them pretty well.

after cleaning the car I started the polish with M105 and discover it is a color coated black and it seems easy to polish them out, not much swirls left so I decided to end the polishing process because it was not my major focus to get the swirls out. so I untaped everything and take it for a wash...

stupid started here. after I untaped everything and started to wash and discovered there are tiny holograms. FML!!! and I just polish it again with M205 and the holograms were taken care of.

wasted time there and can't finish what I am supposed to today.

pictures will be posted later tonight. damm, hate my stupidity!

So, where does the stupidity come in to play?

I'm assuming his stupidity was because he wasted time with 105 when he probably could have just used the 205, or because he went to wash it fret the 105 and not do the 205 regardless. I'm guessing the waste of time was the wash in between when it probably wasn't needed.

Well, I think he meant he should have followed up with 205 before untaping. I've found that you just can't get away with stopping at 105 without leaving holograms. Customers usually don't know a swirl from a squirrel but they will see holograms for sure.

i did a test spot. and 105 is just fine. and hologram wasn't present in the test spot. the stupidity was that i did not follow up with 205 before untapping...

10-04...I understand now...thanks.

So, you did a test spot.
Revealed that 105 was best option.
Then realized that it was BC/Tinted CC.
Pulled tape.
Then polished out w/205...
Thus, not having time to seal, and , or, LSP. :xyxthumbs:
