If you use a detail spray and then a few days later wax the car, assuming the detail spray is still on the paint, will the wax last only as long as the detail spray since wax just sits on top of products?

Likely the solvents in the wax will take off the detail spray.

Non cleaner waxes have solvents?

Yeah there needs to be something in there that keeps the wax from turning into a brick.

Okay. Thank you for your help. At least I don't feel like I killed the wax.

It should be fine. I do that all the time, wash the car, use detail spray while drying, then put a coat of wax on.
