View Full Version : Will residual ONR interfere with UPP second coat?

After reading a CEE DOG review, I bought and applied some Four Star UPP. He was right; I like the look a LOT. (Kinda wish it didn't have so much static cling, though.) I'd like to apply a second coat of UPP (three weeks later) because I have a long road trip coming and want the extra protection. And to make the people I'll visit green with envy, but that's beside the point.

My question is, will the polymer protection left behind by ONR interfere with the second coat of UPP bonding properly?

If so, I'll two-bucket hose wash, but all of my wash soap has "... with carnauba" or " ..... and gloss" which would seem to be the same problem. What's a good car wash soap without the extra "stuff" in it?

Thanks!

I have not had an issue with UPP bonding to the paint after using ONR.

No, ONR can be painted over.

Try using GTechniq G Wash...it leaves nothing behind and won't strip your existing wax or sealant.

Thank you, Rsurfer. Good info, and I'll remember that. And maybe put some G Wash in the basket for the next order. :-)

Other good options for shampoos that clean without adding any gloss enhancers or wax would be Dodo Juice Born to be Mild and Meguiar's Hyper Wash.
