Hi guys,

What is the best way to shine a chrome plastic grill. Can you treat it like any other body panel, such as using a paint sealant and wax, or would your recommend another method? I read some horror stories about using metal polishes on chromed plastic, so I could use some advice on this.

Thanks a lot!

You should be able to safely use Mothers chrome polish. I've been using it on my chrome clad wheels and grill for years. Its very mild. It is nothing like a true metal polish... which would be bad on chromed plastic. I've only used the older Mothers, not the new one that came out recently.

I stick with Klasse AIO for plastic chrome. It cleans it up really well.

I have used paint polished like Meg's m205 on a soft buffing pad. I live in Colorado and the stuff cdot puts on the roads in the winter eats the plastic chrome up and leaves orange dots and the polish has been my most effective way to get the spots off. As for protection I just use a sealant topped with carnuba wax.
