Is there any differences in clay lubes or all they all about the same?

I'm going thru the stuff pretty fast and am thinking the best way to hoard it is to
just buy whatever is on BOGO.

the cheapest lube other than plain water or plain water with car soap is a rinseless concentrate like ONR or DP wash and Gloss mixed with distilled at clay lube dilution.

Are they all the same? Probably not, some are more slippery than others. I recall a thread where you could use modelling clay from Michaels but you had to use the lube from Dodo or it would grab too much.

I like ONR lube myself. Like Mike says, find something that works for you and use it often...

Don't clay with just water, good way to cause marring.

The ONR option is probably best bang for the buck.

Many people like ONR for lube, in my case I found it causing "stiction" after a few passes using 4 different types of clay on 2 different makes/models of vehicles. It would work find for 2-3 rubs, then stick, hard, causing clay to stick and come off the bar and mar the paint. I then tried again and used a ton of lube on the bar and paint, still happened. I tried 2 batches, measured out per bottle instructions for lube ratio, used distilled water, also added a drop or two of car wash shampoo (DG), no help. Using Meguiars regular (red bottle) Quik Detailer, and Mothers quick detailer (comes in their clay lube kit) I do not have that issue (on same vehicles, same sections). Going to use up my ONR for rinseless wash use only.
