Hi all,

A silly question, I know. And yet I am not sure about it so wanted to ask you guys.

The standard yellow foam applicator pad (the one which usually comes along with the new wax that you ordered) has two different sides - a flatter one compared with a rounder one, while the rounder one seems softer.

So if I am about to use it to apply a coat of wax to my car, which side should I use?

Thanks :)

Not a bad question...Mc'lovin

Reminds me of a similar poser:
Which side of the water-pitcher is the handle on??

BTW...J/K...And:
I must concur with rock012345

The yellow foam pads I use seem to be the same on both sides...

Pinnacle Foam Wax Applicator- Great applicators- Great results! (http://www.autogeek.net/pinfoamwaxap1.html)

If yours is different I'd use the softer side against the finish...

I buy those by the 24 pack. Great applicators.

I thought both sides were the same? But I use the side that isn't dirty!

$1.249 currently...I checked because I'd like to order 24 at a time, but I'm going to wait until they're on sale.

I always grab a six of these when I order. I need to ramp it up. These pads are awesome

.Worth every cent!I even cut them up to use as trim sealant applicators. Honestly I didn't

respond to the post early......I thought it was a trap for the rookies:dunno:

Which side of this lake country pad do you put the wax on? Not sure if the holes are there for a better grip or to get wax in the pockets?

If I am doing something like Opti-coat or Opti-seal that requires priming the pad and doesn't show up real well on the applicator, I use the outter seam to determine what side to use. The seam always seems to point up or down, never staight, so if using opti-coat I would use the side that the seam points away from so the correct side always hits the paint.

I've never seen a difference with the exception of Meguiar's pads which have their name "branded" on one side.
