I recently reinstalled windows to get rid of viruses,I did not back up my data, but I also have a student bundle (word, excel, ppt) activation key to reactivate my 3 items, does anybody know how I would go about this ?

Do you have the installation CD for the Microsoft Office software or was it pre-installed on your computer already?

It was preinstalled, but I do have the activation key for the product which is basically a piece of paper where you type in the numbers and letters and it downloads them for you

If you reinstalled the OS using a recovery partition the software should still be in the system. All you would have to do is launch the software (open MS Word or PowerPoint or whatever) and it will automatically prompt you for the activation key.

If it is no longer on the system after the OS install you may be able to download the same version of MS Office online and then reactivate it with the key you already have.

It is no longer on the computer because I did not backup my files, however, I will try using the free trial from microsoft and then adding in the product key

Using The Product Key Card - Office.com (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/using-the-product-key-card-FX101853163.aspx)

Download this unless you do not have 2010. Then insert your key. The key will determine what you can install.
