Looks like I'm going to need a three inch backing plate and pads in the future.

Here is the backing plate/pad/extension being used tonight with the Flex PE14-2-150.

Flex-Foam HD Rotary Backing Plate, 3 inches (http://www.autogeek.net/rotary-3inch-backing-plate.html)

Lake Country Hydro-Tech 3 x 1.25 Inch Foam Pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-hydro-tech-3-x-1-25-inch-foam-pads.html)

Optimum Double-Sided Rotary Adapter (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-rotary-adapter.html)

The live broadcast is about more than winning free stuff! Once the crew finishes machine polishing Mike is going to demonstrate how to properly apply Gtechniq EXO (http://www.autogeek.net/gtechniq-exo-paint-coating.html). Im the MAN

what's the general process to get out of RIDS? Is it just wetsanding starting with lower grit and then moving up and then repolish and reseal?

We'll see what we can do!

Alright now Mike is going to demonstrate how to chemically strip the paint using Wurth Clean-Solve (http://www.autogeek.net/wucl.html). The surface that EXO is applied to needs to be squeaky clean and free of polishing oils before it is applied or it will not properly bond.

That would be a great question to post in a new thread in the Auto Detailing 101 (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/) forum. :dblthumb2:

They both have their own unique mechanical sound. I think the Porter Cable was amplified with Mike standing next to it.
