Now this lol When I started up in January with my biz never could have dreamed I would be at this point.
Started out just doing $25 car washes now getting up to $200+ details. My hard work is finally paying off!
Could not have reached this point without all the helpful people on this forum. Much obliged. :xyxthumbs:

Congratulations! I'm also looking to do well in the business since I like doing cars. Although, I wish more would show up looking like my car but then, I would have no business.

I have invested $5K to start and have only done four cars to date. I have done the usual, business cards, family and friends cards, license plate frames on all my cars.

Next week, I will hit the well-to-do area hoping I can get these people from the local car wash.

Congrats on your dedication, perseverence, and gung-ho attitude.:props:

Won't be long before you're doing reviews and extensive write-ups.

Wow kmsdetailing, 5K is a lot of upfront money to spend. Are you renting a shop or doing newpaper ads? What did you spend on it on if you dont mind me asking.

We started up this year and have only spent about 1G on equipment/advertising. Fortunately working occasionally for Meguiars has its perks.

Thank you! Its all about advertising my friend and telling everyone you meet. Also can not stress enough how important a website is! 90% my clients come from me being found on the internet.

I couldn't beleive it either when I totaled all my receipts. Since, I'm working by myslef, I know I needed to be fast but also do a quality job so I purchased items like the Metro Blower, Mytee 100 Hot Water extractor, several DAs, fibert towels, product, etc. It really adds up.

If anything, I will never have to go to a car wash for the rest of my life.

You would save a ton of money if you buy your chemicals in 1 or 5 gallon pails. You would save even more if you got your chemicals from a supplier. You could set up a business account and pay wholesale. I love autogeek as much as the next guy but I can't buy chemicals 16oz or 32oz at a time and pay retail for them. You will make a more money if you start purchasing differently. Janitor supply houses are sometimes good for equipment. Wholesale clubs are good for supplies. Autogeek is good for everything else.

Haha....I'm the same way. I have enough crap and tools to correct my personal cars for the rest of my life. Let's hope a client calls every now and then ;-)
