I'm not sure. I would think yes. The matte finishes are pretty sweet. What color do you have?

NO, you should not. You dont want to add anything that enhances gloss. It will streak like crazy and wont leave a uniform finish.

That goes for wash/wax products as well.

Chemical guys makes a matt detailer, but the only actual protection/wax that I know of is Swissvax Opaque wax. I actually waxed a matt black Menz last weekend with it, and its such a joy to use. but its around 200 dollars for the pot. The owner of the Benz bought the pot himself.

you better look into matt finish's before you touch a customers car. if you use a foam pad and even a non abrasive polish you will scuff the paint and if will leave gloss. you can not touch these paints as far as polishing.

You CAN clay them though.

swissvax and chemical guys offer good products for this. I would call them direct for instructions if you have no experience using them. I for sure wont give out advice on how to do it, because of the variances in these new finish's. Some are more sensitive than others and use different technology to get there. I'm most comfterable working on the matt vinyl cars as Its easy enough to just replace the vinyl on a panel if you screw it up. lol :)

For washing the car I have found that most rinseless wash's work well (even though they are said to have gloss enhancing polymers), they do not streak. As does poorboys waterless wash.

fortunately I have maintained a vinyl wrapped car for the last 2 years, so I got my process and products down pat. I would hate to learn on a car where a panel cant be replaced and painting it is the only option (matt clearcoat).

Heres the Benz after being treated by me. ONR, 50/50 91% IPA (tar removal and wipedown for grease), Griots Garage (very soft and mild) yellow clay, swissvax opaque paint cleaner and swissvax opaque wax and quick detailer.

Just to be clear, I have never used the below products before, but these are the offerings from Autogeek.

IME, 50/50 IPA is the best quick detailer you can get, and its the cheapest. wipes away streak free everytime while removing greasy fingerprints as everyone loves touching matt cars when they see them. :) (note the magnetic sign I attached to the vehicle above, lol :)

Although after using the swissvax wax I feel it really nourishes the finish. and 50/50 IPA is out of the question after that unless you want to remove the protection. For this I would use the following swissvax detailer or something along the lines from the same company that makes the protection. cause like I said, I strongly believe that most companys will use a detailer that has a lot of alcohol in it as that works best IME.

Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Auto Wash, car wash shampoo, matte finish car wash (http://www.autogeek.net/meticulous-matte-auto-wash.html)

Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer 16 oz. (http://www.autogeek.net/chemical-guys-meticulous-matte-detailer.html)

I would love to know if the matt detailer smells like alcohol as i'm betting it does.

Also a quick bit of advice (especially if the car is your own and not a customers)... Standing water is the biggest enemy of these finish's. As if you get etched watermarks in the finish, you CANNOT remove them. If the waterspots are a huge eyesore (as they are on matte black) you will need to get repainted. You can not polish them out. I found that the swissvax was does a VERY good job of filling and covering them up though.
