Have always used the grey pad, although I do not know why it is called grey as it is black.

I always wondered that too. When I first got my pad, I thought they shipped me the wrong one lol

I tried this product and I'm doing the job with my flex 3401 with a CCS black pad. It's amazing!!!

it really depends on what you are looking for, if you want more cut, I personally use a HT Tangerine, if you just want to amp up the gloss, then the black pad or HT Crimson is great (this is my personal experience)

Thanks for all the responses.

Reason i was asking was because I dont have LC pads.

I have

Buff N Shine (orange,white,green)

&

CG Hex Logic (Orange,White, Black,Red)

Neither of those are a fine polish pads. So I guess i will stop by CG tomorrow and pick up one of there Blue pads which is closest to LC gray pad

I have never used buff and shine so won't comment on them. With the CG pads you currently have I would use a black or crimson (Red) pad. With PO85RD your really not looking to do correction but maximize depth and gloss so a pad with anything more than a very slight bit of cutting ability is really not necessary if you have done your prep properly. There are better suited pads and product for that. You also might give the LC CCS blue pad a try with your next order.

I always wonder how non-abrasive pads break down the diminishing abrasives in PO85RD. Maybe the heat and friction are enough?

CG blue would be a slightly better choice. See your in LA so getting one should be pretty easy. I would still do a quick test and give what you have a shot. Like I said if you prepped well before hand you should be happy with the results using your current pads.

LC Blue is a good choice but I have used a gray (black) pad with excellent results also. I have spoken with people that also like to use the crimson pad with PO85RD.

i just posted in another thread that i cant believe that the po85rd is a 7 on the cut chart, yet it finishes and pops hard ...

i used it for an extra gloss on the vette after megs 105/205 ... that was someones advice i believe last year when i asked for some extra pop ...
